Find help for an older adult in Fairfield or Pickaway County.

One list of meals, rides, help at home, memory care, paperwork and the rest — each entry checked by a volunteer, with the date shown. Or call the navigator and let a person do the searching.

36 listings in Fairfield and Pickaway counties, 31 checked in the last 120 days. The navigator line is closed now, opens tomorrow at 9 a.m. — 555-0170. Leave a message after hours; the navigator calls back the next working day.

A front porch in the last hour of evening light: two wooden rocking chairs, one with a plum cushion, a small round table with a mug and a folded sheet of blank paper, a mustard throw over the rail, geraniums on the painted boards.
Most calls to the navigator start on a porch like this one, with a list and a phone. The list is this page.
Where to start

Four doors instead of a menu.

Each one sets the filters below for you and works as a plain link. Not sure which? Any of them, or the navigator.

The rule

120

days. A listing nobody has reached in that time says so in red and asks you to call first — computed from the date, never typed.

Every number here comes with the sentence that says how it was counted.

The same five numbers, with their methods, sit beside the filings on the Financials page. No outcome claims: a directory cannot know what happened after someone called a listing, and does not pretend to.

412listings verified

One completed call by a volunteer checker, the entry updated and the "checked on" date set; counted from the dates on the listings sheet, 1 January to 31 December 2025. A listing checked twice counts twice.

2,960navigator calls answered

Calls to 555-0170 lasting over one minute, from the phone system's log. Hang-ups, wrong numbers and staff calls out are not counted.

1,850printed lists handed out

Copies of the printed directory left at 14 pick-up points (libraries, senior centers, two clinics) and restocked monthly; the outreach coordinator counts what was taken, not what was printed.

1,140volunteer hours

Hours written on the monthly call sheets by the 22 directory checkers and signed off by the resource navigator. Travel is not counted.

96corrections received

Corrections that arrived by the website form or by phone and were logged, whether or not the listing changed. 71 led to a change.

Something wrong?

Suggest a correction

A phone number that rings out, hours that changed, a service that closed. Tell us about the listing — not about the person you are helping. Demonstration: this form sends nothing and stores nothing.

What happened when you called, or what the new detail is. Nothing about anyone’s health or circumstances, please.
How the list is kept

Checked by a volunteer, with the date shown

Every listing carries the day a volunteer last reached the service and confirmed the entry, and who did it. A listing not checked in 120 days says so in red and asks you to call first. Anything older than 90 days goes on the volunteer call sheet, oldest first, until it is checked again.

A correction goes to the resource navigator, who calls the service within five working days and updates the row or removes it. The website itself keeps nothing.

Help keep the list current →

The main street of a small Ohio county-seat town in October: two-storey brick storefronts with blank awnings, maples in full orange and yellow, leaves on the sidewalk, a bench and a lamp post, the courthouse clock tower at the end of the street.
Two counties, eleven towns, one list. Lancaster in October — the office is two streets from here.
How a listing is checked

Five steps, the same every time.

Twenty-two volunteers, one call a month each. This is what a call looks like, and why every row can say when it was last true.

A corded landline telephone on a hall table with a lamp switched on and a blank notepad beside it.1Call the number on the row

If it rings out twice on two different days, the row is marked “call first” and goes to the navigator.

A clipboard holding a blank printed call sheet with empty ruled lines and tick boxes, a pen across it, a yellow highlighter and a coiled telephone cord.2Ask three questions

Is the phone number right, what are the hours, what does it cost. Nothing about who uses the service.

The resource navigator’s desk: a corded phone with a headset, a comb-bound printed directory open to a page too small to read, a clipboard and a highlighter.3Read the notes back

Two sentences, read aloud; the service corrects them or says they are right.

A paper county road map pinned to a corkboard with plum and mustard push pins and a length of red string, a calendar with empty squares beside it.4Write the date and your initials

On the call sheet. The navigator enters it; the row turns green the same day.

A plain church fellowship hall before a class: rows of folding chairs, a table with a coffee urn and paper cups, a blank flip chart, tall windows.5Hand the sheet in

By the last day of the month. The hours you write on it are the volunteer hours on the Financials page.
